School has given us the power to gradually learn who we are or who we might like to be later on. School has given us our second
family, for some of us probably the siblings we never had.
Even though the school year has come to an end we must treasure our memories because we have learned from them to be better
people. As this stage in our lives ends, another one is about to start. What this new start is doesn’t matter, as long as we maintain
our conviction in our values and the necessary perseverance to reach our objectives. What will our lives be like in 5 years? Certain-
ly, I don’t know. But I do know the people sitting in front of me, my friends, are going to be successful in what they have chosen or
will choose to do in life.
Something crucial I have learned during all these years is to believe in every single friend of mine because thanks to the situations
we have been through together I have learned to give without expecting anything in return, because that is how success happens.
Success does not necessarily mean happiness. However, we expect both for our future. Around a week ago I read a book called
“Who has moved my cheese?” I learned that our happiness is like a big piece of cheese placed in a maze. This cheese will be mo-
ved to different places of the maze, will disappear and appear again and those are the moments when we must be prepared to face
change. We need the will to follow our dreams because that is the only way. Once we are out of school, our maze will be the real
world. We must be able to confront every day and for that we must be competitive, defend coherently our ideas, have leadership
and most importantly: listen to others.
Listening is a virtue that has been expected from us by every teacher we have had during the past 12 years. Today, I thank them for
their patience and dedication because we have learned from them great lessons for life. One of the most important things I thank
the school for is the teachers it has given us for our education. Many became our friends, who we could talk to and laugh with.
Actually, I guess every single person in my promotion has at least one teacher they would like to continue sharing anecdotes with.
I would also like to thank our tutors, because they have been with us through these last two harsh years, supporting and encoura-
ging us to give our best in every aspect of school life and personal life as well.
Finally, we must never forget to laugh of ourselves and our mistakes. We should never forget to be always ourselves and never
pretend to be somebody else. Never forget to listen to your family and friends because they want the best for you, most importantly
never forget to listen to yourself. And always remember that the most wasted of all days is one without laughter because happiness
can be found, even in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light.
Thank You
