Debating At St. George’s College
As a member of the British Schools of Peru, it is not only our duty to participate in the de-
bates organized by the BSP, but also to guarantee the quality of our participation through
internal practice.
On Wednesday June 11th, the students from grades 9, 10 and 11 were all able to enjoy
watching some of their peers participating in our first internal institutionalised debate.
The debaters were Riya Bisht, Moissan Del Aguila, Marcelo Gironda y Kristina Paneva from
grade 9; Ana Isabel Alvarado, Camila Álvarez, Camila Cáceres, Santiago Gonzalez, Isabela
Holguin and César Klauer from grade 10; and Jose Díaz, Henry Perez, Sergio Ramirez, An-
gie Sue, Arturo Torres and Maria Cristina Zegarra from grade 11.
The motions were: “THBT Reality shows should be banned” and “THBT the right to free-
dom of expression is more important than the consequences”. Both the debaters and the
audience benefitted from the experience and were extremely pleased.
