Dear Colleagues:

Colegio de San Jorge is a British international school dedicated to providing a comprehensive education focused on developing the potential of each student. As such we focus on learning related to personal soc ial and educational development of each student. We believe that every student can succeed in a safe environment, care and support. In the center of the philosophy of the school is a focus on assessment for learning and support the development of high sel f-esteem. We believe that within this educational environment, all children can succeed.

As educators, the school offers the opportunity to develop professionally in an international context for teachers in various stages of his career. A successful teacher in San Jorge usually have a number of co mmon, such as enthusiasm, commitment to education, the ability to adapt to different cultures, and flexibility in the development of effective strategies for learning in an environment characteristics new and different .. In return we offer the opportunit y to work within an educational environment where we strive for excellence through innovation and the development of effective teaching strategies to improve the learning experience of each student. Lima is a vibrant and diverse with a wide variety of cultural contrasts city. It is an excellent center from which to visit Peru, from the dry coastal region, the Andes and the regions of the Amazon rainforest . Peru is also world renowned for its excellent cuisine and is also an excellent center for visiting the many cultural and geographically diverse countries of South America.

 Davy College in Cajamarca, located in northern Peru, and El Pinar, located in Huaraz, which is 10,000 feet above sea level in the Andes are also part of our educational group of schools. As such this all ows us to offer the possibility of professional development opportunities between our various schools, as well as with partner schools in Florida.

Clearly, it is important to think carefully about whether Lima and Peru is the environment for you. Those who come with an open and positive attitude to enjoy the experience and it would be true to say that th ey receive as much experience as they put into it. At the end of the day it depends on your attitude and adaptability. It can often be a wonderful experience and many teachers remain much longer his intention at first. However it is important not to ideal ize too much experience, both professionally but personally experience can be immensely rewarding and enriching.

School Profile

Colegio de San Jorge is a private coeducational school for students aged 3 to 18 years, divided between two sites, the Junior School in Miraflores, a suburb of Lima. And the School of Villa on the outski rts of Lima. The school offers an Early Years (Nursery, Pre-K, K) and the program of junior high school (grades 1-5) the following curriculum Cambridge International Primary Programme. The academic programs of the College following the Cambridge Checkpoin t and IGCSE curriculum and school is also an International Baccalaureate World School offering the Diploma. The school aims to provide an international bilingual education is in its programs and British in their organization and internal traditions. The s chool attaches great importance to the positive attitudes and strong values ??and bases its community values ??on respect, honesty responsibility and solidarity.
