Throughout 2013, St. George’s College has successfully participated in all
scheduled activities organised by the British Schools of Peru (BSP).
Pupils of different grades from 6 to 11 have been part of the different experien-
ces such as challenges, debates, theatre, and sports.
Earlier on in the year, our pupils from Grade 11 joined other British schools in
The Form 5 Challenge, consisting of teams facing each other in a quiz to find
out who knew more about current affairs and general knowledge.
Then came the debates from Grade 8 – 11 where our students discussed diffe-
rent motions according to their age and were acknowledged in our assemblies.
Another activity to remember is the BSP Theatre Sports held at Cambridge
College, which was very exciting for our students. In May, 6th Grade had their
Fun Day at San Silvestre College where they interacted with students from
other BSP Schools.
In June, our students participated in the BSP Short Story competition at Cam-
bridge College and we are proud to mention that for the very first time, St.
George’s College was the host of a scheduled BSP event, being the Chess
BSP Championship 2013 here in Villa.
More recently, we had the BSP Science Challenge in Newton College and we
participated in this challenge by building a catapult with the theme of Angry
Birds.
Finally, our students performed marvellously in the BSP One Act Play at Hiram
Bingham College in the production of “What we wouldn’t do for a ‘like’!” Our
students had the chance to show their acting abilities, met all the expectations
and were also acknowledged in our school assembly.
This year was full of excellent activities and we are looking forward to partici-
pating in 2014 BSP activities.
