VISITA DE ESTUDIOS AL PLANETARIO
June 18th was a joyful day for grade 5.They visited the national planetarium in Ate and had the
opportunity to enjoy the finest technology regarding multimedia projections.
The adventure at the National geophysics institute began with a 3D projection of space. Wearing
special glasses it was possible to travel through galaxies and stars. We also explored the planets
and felt as if we could walk on them. The projection also allowed for simulations so we could foresee
upcoming changes in orbits and structure in the solar system.
The second part of the visit was in the IGP domo, The special projector, GOTO GS made us enjoy
an amusing video about day and night and then its magic showed us night in 360 degrees. All stars
above our head! We learned a lot about constellations, particularly Orion, our guide explained to
us how to find this constellation in our sky and then we watched the mythological story of Orion, his
romance with Artemis and his elevation to heavens. The hunter with his two dogs was clearly seen
in the domo.
It was an excellent experience and a motivation to come back and enjoy the domo again with our
family.
