JUNIOR SCHOOL
Father´s Day
The World Cup 2014 was also revived at St. George’s College as we celebrated Father’s
Day using the theme of the World Cup 2014. The Early Years Team wanted to honor all St.
Georgian Fathers on their special day by creating an atmosphere where they could feel
and be a part of it and not just an spectator.
When the gates opened parents looked amazed and delighted as they felt that they were
at a Brazilian stadium seeing that the stage was decorated as a stadium and all the patio
benches symbolized a country of the World Cup. Each classroom was a country and had
to represent it by preparing a number from one of the following categories: storytelling,
dance/cheer, dance/song and dance. Some of these countries were: England, Costa Rica,
Russia, Uruguay, U.S.A, France, Argentina, Ghana, Colombia, etc. Children showed their
unconditional and devoted love to their fathers on this special day. To conclude with the
wonderful ceremony, children gave to their fathers their handmade cards and astoni-
shing gifts.
It was a splendid and impressive performance by early years’ pupils. They put all their
effort and enthusiasm at their rehearsals as it was revealed on the final day. That 13th
of June children gave us a significant lesson; with a lot of perseverance and love we can
accomplish everything we set our minds to.
